The Peace Of The Lord Be With You

The Peace Of The Lord Be With You

Here is your Daily Devotional Prayer for October 14, 2016 brought to you by The Plough

“I will listen to what God the Lord says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants – but let them not turn to folly. Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land.”

Psalm 85:8

Lord our God, you are help, comfort, and life to us in everything we have to endure. We gather before you as poor, weak people, but you can make us rich and give us new life so that our lives prove we hold to your will and to the justice you bring on earth. May we be one in spirit through all we experience in our hearts, to the glory of your name. May the praise and thanks of many people ring out into all the world because you are help and deliverance from all evil. Amen.

Daily Commentary: The peace of the Lord id always with us, both in spirit and the mind. The Lord calls us to enjoy His peace that is everlasting. One that cannot be matched nor can be taken away.  Our former way of life was our folly but we are now a new person in Christ. We have been redeemed by His blood and His promise of salvation gives us peace of mind to carry out His will on earth.

We come before the Lord a penitent people who has seen the evils in our past ways, We ask for forgiveness and a new heart. One that can shine brightly as a nation of believers. But, keep us steadfast in our beliefs and actions that we may not break our covenant with you.

Bring us close to your loving heart so that we may know the peace that comes from the Lord of Lords and Hosts of Hosts. Keep our hearts clean and filled with a strong and healthy faith that will endure the troubles that come along. It is through you, our Lord that we find the peace that each one of us cannot live without!
