Summoned To Love
Have you been summoned to love? In my new book, “Summoned To Love” I ask one important question. How would you feel if you could unleash the power of love in your own life? Most people would say, hell yeah! but how much time and effort do you actually put into unleashing that love into the world?
This is one of the reasons I wrote the book. I wanted to give people a chance to bring more love into the world. With all the economic and social upheaval happening around the world, we need to find a balance in our lives. I believe in this quote:
“If you cannot love then you cannot live”
Finding Inner Peace
No matter what life throws your way, peace is what we all look for when things get crazy. Peace is defined as having a calm soul. Without inner peace, we cannot function at peak performance. Each day, we battle life on a emotional rollercoaster where we let our problems get the best of us.
What is the answer?
Find God’s inner peace. It doesn’t get any easier than that. But isn’t that the quandary we’re living in right now?
You need to give everything you feel over to Jesus. In Proverbs 24:16, it states: “For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.”
We look everywhere for peace except where it is guaranteed… in Jesus!
In life, we are like a boxer without gloves unless we bring Jesus in to train us. Dr Deborah Serani, Psy D, a clinical psychologist says that peace comes when you; “Feed your mind, body and soul in ways that make you feel special.”
Feeling special comes from inspiration. Ralph Marsden once wrote, “The quality of your commitments will determine the course of your life .”
Which course of action you take determines the level of your inner peace. Take a wrong turn and you risk running upsetting the peace that God has given you.
What happens when you throw a stone into a pool of water?
The water in the pool makes a ripple with the waves going out until something stops the energy. This is the same idea when it comes to inner peace.
Calmness of spirit is a trademark of inner peace. We let society rock the boat of our values and beliefs and we never get the chance to carry out God’s plan for us. God’s word is the roadmap we need to help us stay on the path to righteousness and love. Without them, inner peace is just a dream we can never reach.
Finding Unconditional Love
Do you want to find unconditional love?
You must first give it before you can receive it. That’s the difference here. Being unselfish before selfishness. But that’s how society works. It pushes selfishness as a means to make us part of the crowd. The more we seek the ways of the world the more society takes hold of our heart. What we seek does not automatically come to us.
Following God’s example of unconditional love is a concept that doesn’t sit well with society because it’s not based on selfish demands or receiving love but giving without any thought of getting something in return. It’s all about doing for others to make a different and then leaving it up to God to take care of.
How many times have you done something for someone hoping they will return the favor?
Whatever you’ve done you’re reward is already granted but when you do it without expectations, you bring an abundance of love and care into a world of hate and selfishness.
“When the happiness of another person becomes as essential to yourself as your own, then the state of love exists. ” — Robert A. Heinlein
This is what you are aiming for. Making the happiness of another more important than your own happiness. It’s ready to sacrifice for the happiness of the other person. This type of love is the purest l form of love.
Unconditional love gives meaning to our life. It is the seed we plant that gives beautiful fruit. Dr. Paul Haider says this about unconditional love; “It’s very easy to love somebody when they are loving, kind, and good-natured. In some ways we see a reflection of ourselves, and thus want to help that person in any way, shape, and form that we can. When they smile it brightens our day, and when they are sad we want to make them happy again. We go out of our way to do things that will make a difference in their life. And we are even willing to sacrifice a little bit of our own comforts in order to make them happy. But what about those who are very difficult to love?”
That’s where you come in. To bring peace to a violent world you must be able to conquer the division among people and love those who are difficult to love. These are the types of people who need our love more than ever.
Author Lisa Pool writes; “Loving unconditionally is more a behavior versus a feeling. Loving is the act of extending ourselves, vulnerabilities and all, into uncharted emotional territory with the belief that regardless of the outcome, we want to benefit another person. Imagine love as a behavior in and of itself, with the satisfaction being that feeling you get when you act a certain way for them, not when someone else acts a certain way to you. This becomes a pure act of generosity.”
That’s where unconditional love comes from… the act of generosity to others. How generous are you with your heart? The more you give the better the world we live in. The more generous we are with our heart the better everyone else benefits from our love.
Finding True Happiness
What does happiness mean to you?
Does it mean having a lot of money? Fame? or even power? To God, happiness is all about seeking to know Him better and discover his plan for our lives. God is the one who fuels our happiness.
Aristotle once said, “Happiness is the meaning and purpose of life, the aim and end of human existence.”
The happy are those who are blessed with the hunger and thirst for the righteousness of the Lord. But we Christians seek more than happiness. We seek a joy that can only be quenched by God’s love.
You see, inner peace, unconditional love and true happiness are all interconnected. You can’t have one without the other. Society lives with the idea that if it feels good, then do it but Christians go further than that. God tells us that the realization of happiness is achieved by a relationship with Him and being obedient to His Way of Life.
When you follow God’s law, you will find inner peace, unconditional and true happiness well within your reach.
