eyes of the Lord

Eyes Of The Lord Are On Those Who Love Him

Are The Lord’s Eyes On You?

Here is your Daily Devotional Prayer for November 5, 2016 brought to you by The Plough

“The eyes of the Lord are on those who love him, a mighty shield and strong support, a shelter from scorching wind and a shade from noonday sun, a guard against stumbling and a help against falling.” Ecclesiasticus 34:19

Lord God Almighty, whose eyes keep watch over the whole world, we come before you with the evil from our surroundings still clinging to us. Grant that our lives may be in your hands. Give us your strength to find the way, even through suffering and distress. For we are yours, O Lord our God, and you have chosen your people to be strong and to be freed from all evils. Help us, we beseech you. May we know that you are with us and may your Word bring us blessing, to the glory of your name forever. Amen.

Daily Commentary:  What do you fix your eyes on?  Is it on the ways of the world or have you recognized that God is in charge? Though we may have afflictions, it is the Lord who delivers the righteous from the throes of sin.

Freedom from sin does not mean we can be lackluster in our faith hoping God will deliver us. Instead, we must pray for strength and keep our faith in God’s promises. The ways of world offers many temptations but God is our shield, our rock and our shelter from falling for those temptations.

How often have we struggled and called upon the Lord to deliver us but then forget Him when things are going well? It is our responsibility to continue our relationship by showing our love for Him. Our lives are in your hands Lord. Mold us and prepare us for life hereafter in heaven.
