Unleash Your Full Potential On The World

full potential

“You do not become good by trying to be good, but by finding the goodness that is already within you.”

Eckhart Tolle

The worst thing any human can do is live beneath themselves. What do I mean by that? Author Marianne Williamson said playing small does not serve the world nor does it do anything to enhance your life. There are far too many people living small and allowing the world to dictate what they do with their lives. If you want to unleash your potential on the world you can’t sit on the sidelines and wish and hope it could happen. You must get in the game and work at it. Stop giving up so easily.

What are you doing right now to unleash your full potential on the world? Think about it. Do you look in the mirror and wish the real you could shine through beyond all the self-doubt and pessimism?

God put you on this earth to make a statement and it’s up to you to follow through on the values, dreams and goals that are burning in your heart. You don’t have to live behind your fears and doubt anymore.

Does it scare you that you can make a difference in the world today? Does it scare you that there’s so much more that you could be doing with your life than what you engaged in now?

Each one of us has been given talents and gifts that can be developed but are you expanding your innate sense of purpose and direction? To get from Point A to Point B in your life, there must be a plan. You can’t reach your potential haphazardly. Every person can maximize his potential for greatness by understanding what limitations they have whether it be physical, financial or environmental and using their greatest asset… their mind.

1 Corinthians 12:4-6 states, “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.”

Pastor Rick Warren says that “Potential is your unused strengths. Your hidden talents. Your untapped abilities. Your dormant talents. Your capped capabilities.”

That’s a good start but I believe it goes much deeper. I believe potential is the power that has been given to you by God that you must tap into and strengthen so that you can carry out your great calling to the world.

Imagine if ll the great painters, musicians, explorers and scientists had not reached their full potential? What would life be like? Would we be enjoying the life we lead today? What would life be like without computers, cell phones, cars, planes, or even electricity?

In his article, “Personal Development and Human Potential”,  Z. Hereford states, “Personal development is not measured by financial, social or external success. Instead it is determined by our efforts to develop our intellectual, physical and spiritual aspects in order to reach our full human potential. In the process of developing ourselves, we also strive to express our talents and abilities for the enrichment and benefit others.”

This is an important fact most people forget. In order to reach your full potential, it takes more than just want or desire. You need to combine and develop your physical, mental and spiritual powers to bring our talents to the masses. Only then can we bring the true nature of God within us to the whole world.

There is a power deep within all of us that is just itching to come out. It wants to tell the world… “Look what I can do! I have my own unique abilities and gifts and I want to share them with the whole world!”

This is what unleashing your true potential is all about. It means stepping out of your little world and offering yourself to a bigger stage. It means sharing the real you with the world. It means giving everything you have whether you succeed or fail!

What’s Holding You Back From Unleashing Your Full Potential?

“Deep within man dwells those slumbering powers; powers that would astonish him, that he never dreamed of possessing; forces that would revolutionize his life if aroused and put into action.”

Orison Marden

Opportunities abound for those who decide to break free of the chains holding them back in the 21st century . For every human to make the most of their potential they must not only conquer their fears but gain momentum and allow God to work in us with amazing results. What a loss it would be to keep all that beauty, all that power locked up inside of you. The power to change lives…the power to give love… the power to be heard!

Every day we have the capability to do amazing things yet we fall short of what we should be doing. Can you see yourself making a difference in one person’s life? Why aren’t you doing it?

Afraid you’ll fail? Afraid you might screw their lives up even more? Afraid you might actually do some good for once?

I’m amazed at all the excuses people make to not get involved in the world at large. Unleashing greatness is not a curse… it’s a blessing!

According to M.Farouk Radwan, MSc.,“Unleashing your true potential can be done by knowing the exact limits of your potential. Most of the people who don’t reach their true potential fail to do it because they underestimate their abilities and this usually results in accepting mediocre results.”

Have you

The idea that your quality of life depends on how you reach your potential is a truth most of us don’t quite understand. The more we unleash that power within us, the better our life will be.

Tell me… what is holding you back from achieving everything you set out to achieve when you were just a child? Are your dreams just that, dreams? Have you bit the bullet and decided to totally give up on them?  I hope not! You will be denying the world the vastness of your genius, You will be denying the world the gifts God has given to you and you alone.

I see far too many people who put limitations on themselves and suffer greatly for it. The more they say they can’t the more they won’t!

4 Steps To Maximizing Your Potential

“The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential… these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence.”

Are you good enough? That’s a question many of us wrestle with day after day after day. We struggle to feel adequate in a world that forces us to compare ourselves with our neighbors whether we want to or not. The pain comes when we feel we don’t quite measure up and that can take the wind out of our sails very quickly. Just when we think we’re making headway something comes along to bring us right back down.

I used to think I could never measure up to all the great writers even though I dreamed about becoming a famous author. It was so hard to build a following and when each new book I released didn’t sell liked I hoped they would, I felt like giving up. What changed everything for me was learning to believe in myself when others didn’t. To keep plugging away and fulfill my destiny as an author. In July of 2016, I scored my first #1 book on Amazon.com. with the release of Summoned To Love and all the hard work, all the naysayers and all the feelings of inadequacy melted away. What I didn’t realize at the time I was building a snowball that was getting bigger and bigger with each new release and suddenly it took off and conquered everything in it’s path.

I finally realized what unleashing my inner potential mean to to the world. Many of the readers told me the book changed their lives. That was my moment, my epiphany, the day my life changed forever.

You may not be an aspiring author but what is it that burns inside your heart? What is it that makes you, you?

Here are the 4 Steps to Maximize Your True Potential And Unleash The Real You To The World

  1. Don’t Underestimate Your Abilities – You are worth more than you can ever realize. Remember the gifts you were born with and use them for the betterment of mankind. According to M.Farouk Radwan, MSc.,“Unleashing your true potential can be done by knowing the exact limits of your potential. Most of the people who don’t reach their true potential fail to do it because they underestimate their abilities and this usually results in accepting mediocre results.” Are you tired of accepting mediocrity? Then value what you have to offer.
  2. Know Your True Purpose – Shana Schutte says this about purpose. “The gifts God gives us are like little seeds planted inside us, but for them to grow we have to use them.” To fulfill this, Parker Palmer states, “Before I can tell my life what I want to do with it, I need to listen to my life to tell me who I am.” It is those things that give you your greatest happiness aligned with your  strengths and passions in life that will let you know. Then it’s up to you cultivate those seeds.
  3. Cultivate Your Potential – As any farmer will tell you, the harvest is only as good as the work you put into cultivating and fertilizing the field. So it is with your potential. Dreams are one thing but you must do the necessary work to make your potential come to life.
  4. Share Your Potential – After the harvest, comes the sharing. What good is potential if others cannot share in your achievements? Author Dwayne Savaya states, “True potential in life is not what is accomplished, but who benefits from it. Your deposit was given to enrich and inspire the lives of others.” Is benefitting others part of your plan? Are you ready to inspire the world?

Reaching Your Full Potential

“Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don’t know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is!”

Anne Frank

To reach your full potential, you must know the source from whence it came. That would be God. When you realize the source, you can establish a relationship with God. It is through faith and by love that this relationship guides our potential.

Your potential is like a seed that must be nourished. To try and unleash it before it is ready will only bring forth a weak and ineffective action that is as bad as not doing anything at all.

Will Edwards, the founder of White Dove Books tells us, “A life without purpose is a life without richness, depth and reason. However you need to direct the purpose to ensure your dreams are realized. There is little point in investing the time and effort into discovering what you want to do, see or experience if you then do nothing with it.”

Reaching your full potential means first learning to value who you are and what you can offer. It moves on to becoming a person who loves to face challenges and then overcoming them. This builds character, patience and humility. All important aspects of unleashing your full potential.

It’s not about selfishly getting what you want and being prideful. Potential is expressed through both hard work and love for others for you cannot expect to overcome obstacles all by yourself. The true nature of potential is to fight for your dreams. It is a game changer in life and one that most people are unwilling to play.

Z. Hereford goes on to say,“Its purpose was to promote the idea that humans can experience an exceptional quality of life filled with happiness, creativity and fulfillment when they strive to reach their potential.”

The famous theologian, Frederick Buechner, once said: ”Your calling is where your passions meet the world’s needs.” That is where your full potential, unleashed onto the world, can do the most good.

I, for one, am striving for a better world. I offer my best to lift others up. That type of achievement makes for the kind of world all of us want to live and work in.

Are Limiting Beliefs Stopping You From Enjoying Real Success?

limiting beliefs

What Are Limiting Beliefs?

“If you accept a limiting belief, then it will become a truth for you.”

Louise Hay

limiting beliefs

Limiting beliefs are those things such as thoughts, attitudes, judgments and actions that stop us from achieving our hopes and dreams. These beliefs constrain us by putting an impenetrable wall between what is and what can ultimately be.

Are you defined by what you do? Or do not do? By it’s very definition, limiting beliefs inhibit us from ever finishing what we start. That is the biggest obstacle we must overcome if we are ever going to reach our maximum potential.

What is so different about the people who have achieved their dreams and where do you stand today with your own dreams?

It’s all about your limiting beliefs. When you choose to limit yourself, you choose the easy way out of life. The easy way is filled with excuses, negativity and defeatist attitudes. When we limit what we can do and achieve, it sets us up for failure.

Nothing can happen unless we choose to make it happen. We get so caught up in the self-judgment that we forget to look around and see the potential inside of us. Vironika Tugaleva tells us, Courage is your natural setting. You do not need to become courageous, but rather peel back the layers of self-protective, limiting beliefs that keep you small.”

Are you living small? You don’t need courage to live small but to break out of your perceptions of the world, you need to take chances. Take chances on yourself and what you are fully capable of doing. The world is in need of your love, your dreams and your visions.

When I was young, my parents moved us to a different town every year for about the first seven years of my life. I found it very hard to make friends and so my self-confidence was very low and it fed my limiting beliefs. Every negative belief was self-fulfilling. It didn’t matter if it was a big or small belief. My deepest fears controlled my every move. I limited what I could do with false beliefs that never came true

This is the main reason why so many people never fully realize the dreams they had as a child. The limit their functionality by believing things which aren’t true. These beliefs have an incredible impact on your future self.

How Do Limiting Beliefs Impact Your Life?

“You begin to fly when you let go of self-limiting beliefs and allow your mind and aspirations to rise to greater heights.”

Brian Tracy

Most people ground themselves and never allow the mind to rise above mediocrity. They say “I can’t” or “It’s not possible” without really trying. Fear of failure, fear of what others may say as well as the fear of possibilities limits your chances at success.

How often have you had that little voice in your head tell you no when you wanted to do something and then you backed off in fear of what may happen? It is quite common to listen to your fears but only when you face those fears and destroy the limiting beliefs can you soar with greatness.

We see others living the type of life we can only dream about yet what are you doing to make your own way in this world?

Are you always sitting on the sidelines watching others play the game of life?

Are you jealous of those who take chances and succeed?

Are you worried what will happen if you do the same? What others may say about you?

In the Tom Cruise movie, “Risky Business”, his character Joel Goodsen, learns a very valuable lesson about life. His father badly wants him to get into Princeton but Joel has no idea how to do it. He’s scared to take chances as evidenced by his recurring nightmare – He’s taking his college boards but there’s only two minutes before the test is over and he hasn’t started even it yet. Through a series of adventures such as crashing his father’s Porsche, falling for a prostitute and having his family’s possessions stolen by Guido, the prostitute’s pimp, he realizes the consequences of his actions.

But things suddenly change when his best friend, Miles, tells him, “Sometimes you gotta say “What the F**k”, make your move. Joel, every now and then, saying “What the F**k”, brings freedom. Freedom brings opportunity, opportunity makes your future.”, he finally understands what life is all about.

It’s those two sentences that are the basis for all success.

Do your limiting beliefs impact your decision making process?

Of course they do. We agonize for every decision in life wondering if it will propel us forward or saddle us in debt and remorse but you can overcome those limiting beliefs by saying what the hell once in awhile. This mantra can help you gain a much needed awareness of what life has to offer.

Problems can’t be fixed if you don’t know you have a problem. Awareness of those beliefs that limit your progress helps you chart a course for opportunity. Singer Rita Coolidge puts it bluntly when she said, “Too often, the opportunity knocks, but by the time you push back the chain, push back the bolt, unhook the two locks and shut off the burglar alarm, it’s too late.”

What causes this inaction? Your limiting beliefs do. Those thoughts and fears that you have conditioned yourself with throughout your life. The challenge with having limiting beliefs is most people refuse to believe they have them and won’t do anything to overcome them. They are stuck between living a lie and facing the reality of life.

How To Exorcise Your Limiting Beliefs

“Do the uncomfortable. Become comfortable with these acts. Prove to yourself that your limiting beliefs die a quick death if you will simply do what you feel uncomfortable doing.”

Darren Rowse

How uncomfortable are you with life?

Are you comfortable with the uncomfortable or do you shy away from anything that will force you out of your comfort zone?

Limiting beliefs are the cornerstone of the unsuccessful. They tend to hide behind excuses while justifying their actions.

So how do we exorcise those limiting beliefs and start firing up a new set of positive beliefs that can take us to a whole new level of success in our lives?

  1. Learn From Your Experiences – Everyday we have the chance to learn from what life is teaching us. The problem comes when we close our eyes and mind to the lessons we need to learn. The more you learn, the better you will be able to re-educate yourself re=adjust your beliefs so they are in perfect alignment with the real you.
  2. Get Rid Of Faulty Logic – Are the decisions you make based on logical assessments of what is really happening or do they come from judgments that lack truth and coherence? What may seem logical based on past experiences may not have all the evidence needed to make sound decisions. Test your logic and see if it passes the B.S. meter. Most of the time it doesn’t so you’ll need to re-examine how and why you make the decisions you do.
  3. Face Your Fears Head On – This may be the hardest action to swallow but fear has the uncanny ability to limit us and keep us caged into a corner. Everyone faces their fears at some point in life so you can’t keep running away from them. It is how you gain strength and courage to better yourself. Fear is not the enemy, how you react to it is. Everytime you face your fears and overcome them, the easier it is to take calculated risks that will pay off in the future.
  4. Replace Your Beliefs With Positive Ones – Beliefs are not set in stone. They can and should be changed if they cause problems for you. This means you must do a lot of soul-searching and be honest with yourself. If the belief is not working, find a belief that will. This doesn’t mean that you take on any old belief system because it works for others. You must personalize it with powerful and positive actions that remain true to your personality.
  5. Stop Trying To Control Life – The more you try to control the things around you, the more you will lose control of who you really are. You can’t control everything and everyone so back off and stop trying to control factors that are outside your control. How you react to life plays a big part in how successful and how strong a person you become. Giving up control is not weakness but strength in faith. You don’t know what life will offer you from minute to minute so let it come to you and enjoy the moment. The fears, the stress, and the unknown have no control over you. They are part of life and when you limit the soul, it cannot fully taste the communion with God.

step outside your comfort zone

How Do You Transform Your Limiting Beliefs?

“All too often we’re filled with negative and limiting beliefs. We’re filled with doubt. We’re filled with guilt or with a sense of unworthiness. We have a lot of assumptions about the way the world is that are actually wrong.”

Jack Canfield

Limiting beliefs are all about perception. What you may perceive to be an obstacle is only there to help you grow. In his article, “THE COMPLETE GUIDE ON HOW TO OVERCOME YOUR LIMITING BELIEFS”, author Adam Sicinski states, “It’s not the events of our lives that shape us, but our beliefs as to what those events mean.”

When you start shifting your perception from the events to the actual meaning, then you can shift your limiting beliefs to positive ones that push you in the right direction towards a successful life.  Adam goes on to say “Beliefs are not facts.”

This is important to remember as our limiting beliefs in our mind are held up as facts when in reality, they “Are nothing more than conclusions you have drawn based on your childhood experiences” according to Adam.

To change those limiting beliefs, you must look for the key signals that offer clues to what is limiting your mindset.

  1. What Do You Complain About The Most?
  2. How Often Do You Make Excuses?
  3. What Negative Things Do You Think About?
  4. How Often Do You Procrastinate?
  5. What Makes You Worry?
  6. Do You Make Assumptions Or Conclusions About Yourself And Your Abilities?
  7. Have You Set Your Standards Too Low? Too High?

Limiting beliefs serve a purpose for each and every one of us. Whether it is to hide from pain or protect us from our fears. Each belief we have must be examined, defined and tested to see if holding onto it helps you become the person you envision yourself to be.

To transform your beliefs, you must be open to the possibilities of life and be ready to embrace them as they come. It’s no use being fearful as limiting your perceptions serves no purpose.

Here are 3 ways to transform your limiting beliefs

  1. What Outcome Do You Want For Your Life? – You’ll never get anywhere until you decide what outcome you want for you life. What are your goals and what’s preventing you from achieving them? What do you want to change and how will you go about changing them? The end result is what you will be working for.
  2. Put Your Limiting Beliefs Through The Ringer –  Change doesn’t come unless you decide to change and the only way to change is to put your beliefs through the ultimate test. That is, question the validity of every belief. Take it through the ringer until you expand your perspective of the infinite you. Seems rather a bit much but what else can you do? The more you push your beliefs to the limit the more you can shake out the things that don’t belong. Each question that comes to mind is done to learn more about who the real you is. All this is done to find clarity. Without it, those limiting beliefs will never go away.
  3. Constantly Work On Your Beliefs – Once you’ve transformed your beliefs into the real you, it doesn’t mean you’re done. It only means you must continually grow. Overcoming your limiting beliefs is a constant struggle but that is the beauty of life. Continuous growth makes you stronger and better equipped to deal with the complexities of life. You must condition your new beliefs until they become part of you. Be flexible with your beliefs as they may need to be tweaked from time to time but according to Adam Sicinski, “Your beliefs must change with the times, they must also change with your goals.”

When you let go of your limiting beliefs and adopt empowering ones, you seek out your deepest fears and conquer them. The day you give in and let those beliefs rule you is the day you limit your chances for success.

Let me leave you with this quote from Marianne Williamson, which talks about living small. “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Highlights From My Book Signing

displaying my books

On Sunday, July 9th, I had a book signing at the the famous Convention Hall in Asbury Park, New Jersey. If you are not familiar with Convention Hall let me me get you up to speed. Convention Hall has witnessed performances from the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Bob Dylan to  Van Halen, Kiss, The Allman Brothers and The Beach Boys.

For me, it was my home away from home during the hot summer days of the late 1970’s and to host a book signing in that very place was a dream come true. It’s not about how many books I sold or how much money I made but meeting book buyers and connecting with them.

showing off my newest book release

I had so much fun talking to people about what I do and helping them with their personal development. Writing brings me closer to God and being a Christian author, I am able to connect with other believers on a much deeper level. As evidenced by the pictures, you can tell that I was in my glory but many other authors came in for the show as well.

What made it so memorable was the fact that I could help other authors learn about the marketing as well as the business of putting books together.

If you ever come down to the Jersey Shore, take a walk on the boardwalk in Asbury and know that I can claim a spot with all the greats with my book signing at Convention Hall in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

I was able to resurrect some of my older books and meet with some very interesting people who share my love for healthy eating, for being inspirational as well as learning how to increase their personal power.

Just wanted to give a big shout out to Kay Harris, the owner of the Galleria inside the Convention Hall who made this all possible as well as the other authors who came out and peddled their newest books. A great time was had by all!
