God’s Love Endures Forever

Here is your Daily Devotional Prayer for October 31, 2016 brought to you by The

“Let those who fear the Lord say: “His love endures forever.” When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord; he brought me into a spacious place. The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” Psalm 118:4–6

Lord our God, dear Father in heaven, we thank you. How often you rescue us from all fear and distress! How often you hear and answer us! Grant that our hearts may always be eager and joyful because you answer us. There is nothing else for us in this world; you are our one hope, our only hope. You alone can help our times, help the nations, help each person. Nothing else matters to us. Lord our God, for the rest of our life on earth you alone are our help, our comfort, and our strength. Amen.

Daily Commentary: How often do we call out the Lord’s name in distress? He knows each one of us by name and rescues us from harm according to His will. We need not be fearful because we know the unconditional love of God is mighty indeed. For He has given us confidence to have faith in He who is Lord over all. This is how His love endures forever!

How comforting it is to know we are loved and that we have God’s mercy in His loving kindness towards us. He is a loving Father who wants the best for His children and is there when we call, Why, because God gave us His only Son as payment for our sins. If He is willing to do that, what more will He do for us?

When we fall, God is there to pick us up. This is why God is great. He is good all the time and it shows in His merciful love towards us.

How To Go From Hopeless To Hopeful When Things Look Bleak

from hopeless to hopeful

From Hopelessness To Hopeful When Things Look Bleak

“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.”
Desmond Tutu

You’re laying in bed, the bills are spread out all around you and you realize you don’t have enough money to eat let alone pay your creditors or you’ve been laid off and the mortgage is due and you don’t know what to do. How do you go from hopelessness to hopeful when things looks bleak?

Believe me, I’ve been there and it can be very depressing to when you see your world falling apart all around you. You feel despondent and worthless as if no one cares but I’m going to show you how to turn things around with words of hope and encouragement that will give you a different take on your struggles.

How do you elicit hope when you feel like throwing in the towel?

The first question you have to ask yourself is this…

Am I using my faith to the best of my ability?

Faith is the mountain we stand on when life tests our resolve.  At times, it can feel like there’s no light at the end of the tunnel but we are not promised an easy life. God has given us a plan but sometimes it’s fraught with thorns that we have to battle through. Remember, God is always refining us and preparing us for his fulfilled promises.

He offers hope where hope should not be found. He offers a way out of whatever you are going through.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”  Romans 15:13

Sometimes, we fight the temptation to give up but God is always there, watching over us. Don’r be defined by your past experiences. Instead be emboldened by them, learn from them and use them to better yourself!

Finding Hope In A Hopeless World

hope endures

Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. – Matthew 11:28

Trials and tribulations always seem to come at the worst times but it’s these types of thing that shapes us and makes us who we are.

I can remember when I was in my early twenties and I was still living at home. I had recently lost my job, had ten dollars to my name and no prospects for a decent job. I felt hopeless in my situation. How was I going to make a life for myself.?

I didn’t want to live at home all my life but there didn’t seem to be a way out . What were my options? Here’s where things get interesting.

Here’s what I did to overcome my hopelessness and live a life filled with hope and joy.

1- Change The Way You Think – We all get into bad habits and our thoughts are what does us in. Negative thoughts are like little missiles that blow us parts of our life but when you use positive re-enforcement in your thoughts they are the shields that protect us from self-esteem problems.

2- Seek Out Inspiration From Others – I knew deep down inside I had something to offer the world and when I went looking for inspiration from others, I found a way out of my troubles. They say you need to find someone successful and duplicate what they are doing. When I started changing my habits and doing what other successful people were doing, everything changed for me. I found the love of my life, a good job came my way and I found the strength inside I didn’t know I had.

3- Take Calculated Risks That You Know Will Pay Off – Standing still means stagnation and that is what kills dreams and sends people down the road to depression and suicide. They feel they can’t get out of their situation and take the easy way out. You have to fight and claw your way through life sometimes and take risks that will pay off. Risks are only risky when you don’t take the ones that can make things better for you. Example… you just lost your job, what do you do? Sit home and cry about it or go out and fight for the job you know you deserve. What can happen? You either don’t get it or you do. The odds are with you when you make it a do or die. You keep doing it until it pays off.

4- Identify Those Things That Bring You Down – I understand that you cannot be happy all the time but you need to pinpoint exactly what is troubling you realize it is a part of your life and you must deal with it. Too often, people push things to the side and wait for a day that never comes. Instead, deal with it now and take responsibility. Revel in the fact that you are strong enough to tackle it and if things get out of hand, that’s when you go for help. The problem is, most people do not have a plan until it’s too late. Don’t be that person. Once you have a plan of action you must put it into gear or it will all be for naught.

5- Face Your Fears – We all have certain fears that we don’t want to face but like we said in number three, identify and then plan out. Here, understand what you are fearful of and map out a plan that will help alleviate those fears and then take action. For me, it was the fear of facing others if I failed so I didn’t try anything for fear of failure. Once I overcame this fear, I was able to take chances and if I did fail, it was no big deal.

Overcoming Hopelessness And Finding Hope In The Lord

Jesus Christ

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
1 Peter 5:10

Overcoming the feeling of hopelessness is more than just saying I can or I will. It is actually doing it by faith. Faith is a road by which few travel and learn from.

Let me ask you this…

If someone made a promise to you and it showed you a way to live that would bring blessings to you, would you follow it?

Now if you made a promise to another wouldn’t you want that person to believe you?

This is what faith is and though there are bumps in the road, it is all about the journey itself. God wants you to focus on the tasks at hand. As much as you think you are at your breaking point, God has a plan for you.

Let me give you an example.

My son graduated near the top of his college as a music education  major. His dream was to teach music and bring the love and appreciation he has for it to the young children.  Despite looking for a job month after month, nothing came about. He was down to his last few dollars and was very depressed. He gave everything he had for four years, traveling all over the country playing and bringing his gift to the world.

Finally, after praying to God and opening up his heart, a job offer came after school year has already started. It was about 100 miles away at a inner city school which had gone through music teachers at an alarming rate. It meant he would have to move out and be by himself for the next year or so.

At first he was very depressed because it wasn’t what he was looking for but God has a plan for him. By humbling himself and taking this tough assignment, God was preparing him to be a gift to these kids who badly needed a figurehead who cared about him. He now sees that this was a test for him and  he was needed by God to do an important task.

The idea that your outcome looks bleak and there’s no end in sight is a fallacy. Your future is bright because God has a plan for you. It may not be what you envision and it definitely will be tough but God is forging your heart and making you strong.

Think of this as a test. You either win or lose. What’s it going to be?

Decide On Hope Or Hopelessness

“True faith means holding nothing back. It means putting every hope in God’s fidelity to His Promises.”
Francis Chan

Make the decision to live by faith and then take action on that faith. I promise you He will deliver… big time!

You can be rest assured of God’s promise through these 5 bible verses:

Psalm 33:22  “May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.”

Romans 12:12   “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”

Praise The Lord All You Nations

Praise The Lord All You Nations

Here is your Daily Devotional Prayer for October 30, 2016 brought to you by The

“Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord.”

Psalm 117

Lord our God, we thank you that we may come to you and that our spirits can reach out for your help and your comfort. May we draw strength from communion with you, our Father. May we realize more fully that we are your children, truly your children, who throughout our pilgrimage are allowed to know you as our refuge and our help. Remember our world, and grant that many hearts awaken and turn to you, looking to you in all the fear and need which sweep over many people in our time. Let your Spirit be revealed to our hearts in quiet, bringing many experiences from you, O Lord our God, and from your kingdom. Protect us every day in the many lands throughout the earth. For the nations are yours; they shall receive life and blessing from you, and at last your kingdom will be revealed in all the world, to the eternal glory of your name. Amen.

Daily Commentary: Do you know why is worship important to us? We create a place where God’s word lives and breathes within us. Worship is a way to to bring what we feel deep inside outwardly in a way that brings us closer to God. Praise is a way to get in touch with the spiritual aspect of who we are.

Praising also Is to brings glory to God where it belongs. In Romans 3:23, it states, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”  Because of this,  the words of praise to Gd are like the angels singing in heaven. They resonate with out love of the Lord and all his ways.

God demands our worship as written in Matthew 4:10, “Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only..”  But not only that, He deserves it. He made the world and everything in it including you. Everything you have, all the things you’ve experienced, both good and bad, are from him. His unconditional love gave you life and that’s where our praise comes from.

Praise the Lord so that every ear shall hear His word and “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Therefore, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now even more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.…”  Philippians 2:10-11.

Rejoice In The Lord

Rejoice In The Lord

Here is your Daily Devotional Prayer for October 29, 2016 brought to you by The

“Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, Lord. They rejoice in your name all day long; they celebrate your righteousness.”

Psalm 89:15–16

Dear Father in heaven, how lovingly you have thought of us! How much good you let us experience again and again! So our hearts are happy, and we go to rest this night full of joy and thanks because we are your children. Our thanks and joy shall be our service to you day and night. More than this you do not ask, and in this we will be faithful. We want to be joyful and to be glad for our lives. Even when we face dark hours, O Lord our God, we are filled with hope that brings us joy for the future as well as for the present, with assurance that your salvation is coming. We rejoice in what you give us already today. Amen

Daily Commentary: God’s unconditional love allows us to rejoice in His ways. By walking in His presence, we follow the path of righteousness. A place that happiness dwells in and powers our hearts. God has been faithful to us and when there are trials and tribulations, trust  and faith are our biggest advantage.

Joy is what every person covets and we can rejoice in the salvation that awaits us.  Do you know what true joy is? It comes from knowing God’s unconditional love and opening our hearts to it.  We are blessed to know the full power of His love but we must believe in the assurance of what has been promised.

The Lord Delivers The Faithful

Deliver The Faith My Lord

Here is your Daily Devotional Prayer for October 28, 2016 brought to you by The

“Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High, and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”

Psalm 50:14–15

Dear Father in heaven, we want to praise you together and to thank you with all our hearts for your goodness and your deliverance from our many needs. Accept our thanks, and help us go on our way with ever joyful hearts. Make us ready for whatever you have prepared for us, your children. Bless us in our individual lives and bless us in our community. Let your Spirit shed its rays into all places to comfort people’s hearts and to restore and strengthen their faith. May your name be praised forevermore. Amen.

Daily Commentary: Why do we complain when God has brought abundance to our lives? We have been given the keys to the kingdom of heaven yet we live without the true joy that is found in the body and blood of our Lord. We look to society to take care of our needs and when they aren’t met we become angry and resentful of others.

Life has a way of providing what we need if we are humble enough to come to God and accept His love. Everything comes from Him so why not allow God to deliver His love into your heart. You see, we have a bad habit of making everything we do about ourselves. Get rid of this attitude and become a giver. Take what God has given you and give to others.

We speak of gratitude but we need to show it. It must be genuine and from the heart. Thanksgiving is a way of live not just a holiday. We must thus acknowledge him in all our ways, depend upon his wisdom, power, and goodness, and refer ourselves entirely to him, and so give him glory. That is real gratitude.

The Lord will deliver us from evil and we shall be glad  and sing his praises!

Suffering For Christ

Suffering For Christ

Here is your Daily Devotional Prayer for October 27, 2016 brought to you by The

“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.”

2 Corinthians 4:8–10

Lord God, we thank you for your voice even when it is stern and we must go through hardship and suffering. Your voice speaks to us, and in your voice we can be glad and victorious in our life on earth. Come into our lives. May each of us realize that all we have gone through has been for the good. Be God and Lord over the nations. Be a refuge for all people. Grant that the sin and distress of this terrible time may soon pass and that we may hear your words, “Be comforted. I will come soon. All these terrors must pass by. My will is being done. My name must be honored. My kingdom and my rule are coming. So take heart and at all times look to your God and Father in heaven.” Amen.

Daily Commentary: Why does God allow suffering? It is for own own good. When we suffer for Christ, we grow in love and appreciation for what He did for us on the cross. It is not a matter of imitating Christ but of suffering with him that makes all the difference.

Life is tough and we have to be strong but God has given us His Son to redeem us and make us whole again. Suffering as a Christian is at the heart of what makes us who we are. We will not be  crushed … we will not live in despair … we will not be forsaken … and we will not be destroyed.  This is God’s promise to us. He looks after His sheep.

God will interpose by his grace, and aid his people, and save us from absolute despair. Why? We were created by love, for love and to be loved. That is God’s hope for us. The suffering burns off the the things we don’t need and makes us a new person in Christ,

We have the help, the presence, the support, and assistance of God in everything we do whether we suffer or not because it is for our own good!

How To Be One With The Lord

We Are One With The Lord

Here is your Daily Devotional Prayer for October 26, 2016 brought to you by The Plough

“I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name – the name you gave me – so that they may be one as we are one.”

John 17:11

Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior, stand at our side and protect us in all our days on earth. Grant us an understanding of the honor that belongs to God. Help us see that you are sent so that heaven and earth shall one day bow down before God’s almighty will. Stand by us so that we may hear, understand, and accept your Word. Stand by us all our lives. Be with us in suffering and in our last hour when death comes to us. May your grace be with us. Help us at all times to be firmly rooted in the will of our God and Father in heaven. Amen.

Daily Commentary: Though we still remain in the world filled with dangers and pitfalls, we still have our steadfast faith and love in you, our Lord who loves us unconditionally, Keep us from sin and help us remember to stay united in  prayers and close to your heart.

The Lord may have left this world but He has not forgotten us. We have the Holy Spirit to guide us in our decisions and actions. We pray that our hopes and dreams may be fulfilled in your glory and that we may have the strength to overcome our struggles and sufferings through your holy sweet name.

How To Enter The Light Of The Lord

Here is your Daily Devotional Prayer for October 25, 2016 brought to you by The Plough

“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

John 8:12

Lord our God, grant that our spirit may recognize your Spirit and your love, so that our lives cannot be swallowed up by passing concerns but are lifted to something higher. Help us hold fast to all the blessings you have allowed us to experience, the blessings you will certainly continue to give, even though new battles and new troubles are all around us. Send a great light to shine among the many people whose task is to lead the way so that your kingdom may come. Send light so that your name may be honored through our human deeds and you may be known as life for all. Amen.

Daily Commentary: Oh, that we should live in darkness when the Lord is calling us to join Him! What makes us remain in the darkness when the light of the Lord is shining love all around us? In a world that believes in acquiring as much as possible, the only thing we actually need is the love of God.

How often have we felt the emptiness of our possessions?

How often have we felt abandoned by our wants?

Jesus lights our path and if we ever go astray, like the Good Shepherd He is, will find us and and bring us back to Him. This light will never go out and belongs to us now. It is our way to truth, our way to goodness and our way to a loving God that has brought us out of darkness and into the light of His unconditional love.

Our walking in the light of the Lord gives us hope and joy and frees us of the dangers that lurk in the darkness of sin.

Your Father In Heaven Loves You

The Father Loves You

Here is your Daily Devotional Prayer for October 24, 2016 brought to you by The Plough

“For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from the Father.”

John 16:27

Dear Father in heaven, we thank you that with our poor, faulty, sinful, and death-ridden lives we may find shelter in your love. We thank you that we are your children. We thank you that whatever we are, however depressed we are about ourselves and the inadequacy of our own nature, we are still your children. Give us your Spirit, we pray. Give us your Holy Spirit, penetrating our whole nature, our flesh and blood, keeping us firm in faith under all temptation and distress. Give us your Spirit to fill us with hope as we look to the future, to fill us with certainty in our Lord Jesus Christ, who was, and is, and is to come, whose victory is before our eyes so that we never waver or become afraid. Give us your Spirit so that we may live in this certainty and prepare ourselves more and more for your coming into the world. May we come to know that your loving-kindness is at work today, that in the end your deliverance will come quickly, to the glory of your name. Amen.

Daily Commentary:  The Father in heaven loves you. It is something we take for granted but He showed us how much by sending His son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. We understand this to be our saving grace. We are assured of this love of Christ by the Father that has been extended to us before we were even born. This is the meaning of spiritual love by God.

Because Jesus was sent by God, he is the true Messiah and so our faith in Christ is what shows our love to the Father. Our faith works by  love and the fruits of our love are give to us by the Father. He watches over us by his providence and comforts us by his presence. That is real love by the Father!

These words remind us that the only bond of our union with God is, to be united to Christ; and we are united to him by a faith which is not reigned, but which springs from sincere affection, which he describes by the name of love; for no man believes purely in Christ who does not cordially embrace him, and, therefore, by this word he has well expressed the power and nature of faith.

Living With God’s Compassion

Here is your Daily Devotional Prayer for October 23, 2016 brought to you by The Plough

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.”

2 Corinthians 1:3–5

Lord our God, Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who encourages and strengthens us in all distress, we thank you for turning our suffering into a pathway to life, so that we may be thankful and trusting through everything. You can change what we find hardest into what is best for us. Praise to your name that a way through sin and death is given to us. Praise to your name that you have shown us a way through all evil, a way that is blest. Amen.

Daily Commentary: Jesus is the source of all comfort and is the merciful one. He comforts us when we most need Him and will not desert us in times of trouble. In Hebrews 13:5, it is written, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

This is important to remember for Christians as we seem to forget God when things bad. We blame Him for our troubles instead of coming to Him in humility as there are two avenues of comfort that God gives.

1- The Word of God

2- Prayer

People that do not go directly to God while reading his word and praying for direct comfort miss out on all the blessing the Father has reserved for us. Suffering is part of the human experience that is why God has set up prayer and His word to give us comfort when we need it..

Finally, we are made in the image of God so we are required to comfort others as God has comforted us. We read this in 1 Thessalonians 5:11, Therefore, comfort each other and edify one another , just as also are doing.” As well as 1 Thessalonians 5:14,“Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feeble minded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.”

Comfort is something we all need, It is up to take advantage of the comforting love Jesus has given to us. By giving comfort to others, we bring full circle the love of the Father to all of mankind.

Fear The Lord Your God

Here is your Daily Devotional Prayer for October 22, 2016 brought to you by The Plough

“And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul?”

Deuteronomy 10:12

Lord our God, our Father in heaven, be with us as we are gathered here. Through your Spirit let our hearts grow in understanding of how we can serve you rightly and live as you want us to live. Help us hold fast to all that is good. Free us more and more from everything that hinders us, from all that is evil. Show your loving-kindness to us and to our loved ones, wherever they may be. Hear every human heart that sighs to you, pleading that what is of heaven may overcome what is of earth. Amen.

Daily Commentary: It is God’s great mercy that we should have gratitude for. When we sin, we have a just and righteous God who is merciful to our situation and bestows His love on His adopted children. Though we do not deserve to be saved we have been by the blood of Christ.

We hold honour and pleasure in being obedient sons and daughters . We must give honour to God. He requires our obedience to serve Him faithfully. It is these three things,  fear, love, and obedience that brings us closer to God.

What prompts this love? Our service to God as Christians. He has liberated us from our sins yet we continually forget His commandments. It is this we should fear… losing our soul to our own selfish needs and putting God last. What is our attitude in all this?. How do you respond to God?

Our fear is based on how we stand before Him? Do you revere God and stand in wonder of everything He has made such as the earth, the sky and the heavens above. He has given us everything we need to live a holy and abundant life.

We know we are not worthy so the question I ask you is this…

Do you fear the Lord your God and what are you doing to show Him your love?

We Offer Prayers For All Of God’s People

“Then another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a golden censer; and he was given a great quantity of incense to offer with the prayers of all God’s people upon the golden altar in front of the throne. And from the angel’s hand the smoke of the incense went up before God with the prayers of his people.”

Revelation 8:3–4

Lord God, we come before you and ask you to turn our hearts and minds to you alone, to you who have power over the whole world and who can do everything in our hearts according to your will. Let there be light in our time. Hear and answer the many prayers that have already come to you, rising for centuries before your throne, prayers for your kingdom and for your will on earth. This earth has become the prey of evil. We are poor and needy, and you alone can help us. Help us, O Lord, our God and Father. After this misery let your day come, your great day over all the world and over all peoples. Amen.

Daily Commentary: The world has become an evil place indeed but with your your love, we can manage to do Your will here on earth. We see Your love in everything around us and we seek Your guidance to live a life acceptable in your eyes.

Everything we have comes from God yet we still don’t appreciate what we have. We must conform our lives to that of the risen Lord for our prayers come from the heart . We are called to pray and  we should “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” – Romans 12:12.

Through prayer, we are obedient to God for we must respond to His calling.   We learn from Jesus’ example to pray so that we can communicate with God.

May our prayers to you render them acceptable before God almighty

“You cannot protect yourself from sadness without protecting yourself from happiness.”
Jonathan Safran Foer

Ever felt like finding true happiness has eluded you your whole life?

Maybe you’ve had a few instances of happiness but they were so short lived you can barely remember them. I got ya! It seems like everyone is so miserable these days and you don’t have a clue as to why this happening to you also.

We look all over the place for true happiness but we forget the first rule of happiness… do what makes you happy. You don’t look for happiness, you let it come to you.

We find it in the little things in life. Ever thought about doing something wild and crazy but then your logical side spoke up as if it were your mother and told you to stop fooling around and get busy doing something constructive?

Those are happiness killers. The things that stop us from having fun and expressing ourselves.

What makes you happy?

What’s stopping you from the things that make you happy?

Excuses are the bane of anyone trying to find happiness in a world filled with sorrow and depression.

According to Professor Myrna Weisman and associates, roughly a quarter of the population has suffered some form of clinical depression during their lifetime and a further 48% has suffered from depression severe enough to incapacitate them for more than two weeks. This is also taken from Robert E. Lane’s book “Loss Of Happiness” and it shows that society is becoming less and less happy and has gone to taking out its frustrations on one another.

If you want to be happy you need to examine what makes you happy, why they make you happy and how you go about including those things in your life.

What Are 7 The Keys To Finding True Happiness?

knowing happiness

“Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.”
Marcel Proust

Worry is not one of then but the mere fact that we are so filled with worry makes it so hard to be happy. There are many ways to be happy but let me share some of the most powerful keys to finding happiness.

1- Faith It may seem like a no-brainer but too many people go round without faith in themselves or a higher being.  As a Christian, my faith keeps me grounded and allows me to stay away from temptations that would get me in trouble, from people who may try and take advantage of me as well as situations that may compromise my values. The more faith you have the happier your life tends to be. This isn’t just words but a promise. Countless studies have been done to see why people of faith  are happier. Their conclusion? People of faith have something to look forward to that is filled with joy. That gives them contentment others just can’t match.

2- Learn To Savor Life’s Pleasures – You can’t be happy if you don’t experience what life has to offer. How often do you forget the good times in your life while ruminating over that spilt glass of milk or forgetting someone’s name? Savor the good times and forget the bad times. Go out and spell the flowers, Learn how to go out and splurge on yourself without feeling guilty and indulge in what life has to offer. Every day is a chance to see all the beauty God had made for us.

3- Have A Set of Friends Who Have Your Back –  Friends are given to us to experience life from all points of view.  They are there in good times and bad, to laugh at our silly jokes and to make connections that go deeper than just what’s on the outside. Most of our happy memories come from the experiences we share with others.

4- Stop Living Safe – How boring life would be if we never took chances. Where is the fun in being safe. Live like you may not see tomorrow, love like it may be your last time and create adventures that bring fun into your life. It’s not about throwing caution to the wind but taking calculated risk that brings the most rewards.

5- Find Your Balance Point – Life should not be all about work and no play and vise versa. It should be balanced to the point where happiness has a chance to breathe. When the tipping point goes beyond your set balance, unhappiness and misery fills your heart. The main goals of balance is to allow the body and mind to be fulfilled and at peace. If you have neither then you must rebalance you life and add or detract those things that push your life out of balance.

6- Reposition Your Thought Patterns – Too often we take the “I want”  stance in our lives and this leads straight to unhappiness. The more we have, the greater chance of us drowning in possessions instead of experiences. Switch your thoughts to “I Am” and you’ll see the difference. It’s all about piece of mind and believing in yourself. That leads to true happiness and empowerment. Once you have the power to be happy through the mind, you will know the source of your happiness and be able to find happiness wherever you go.

7- Appreciation & Gratitude – If you don’t have these two things you will never be truly happy no matter what you do. Appreciation helps us feel good about  who we are, what we have and the people in your life. The same thing goes for gratitude. Thanking God and showing it in your daily excursions brings a peace of mind that helps you during your struggles. Don’t underestimate the power of a good thank you or a pat on the back. Those things are as important as anything else in life.

What is The Real Meaning Of Happiness?

“Happiness [is] only real when shared”
Jon Krakauer

Do you know what the meaning of happiness is? Happiness is not the final destination but takes real effort to maintain. We equate happiness with satisfaction and quality of life but it goes much deeper than that. Even though our moods fluctuate, we control whether we stay happy or become depressed.

Research has found that the more our activities coincide with our values the happier we are.  We get meaning from doing those these things but our problems arise from where we put our priorities in the wrong place.

Does your priorities jell with your activities? If not, you may want to think about changing your activities. Happiness alone isn’t enough for us to feel fulfilled but chasing happiness is not the answer.

How to Be Happy

We were made to be happy, yet for most of us, we never attain a level of happiness that leaves us with no regrets.

The more we fight to be happy the less happy we are.

“It is the very pursuit of happiness that thwarts happiness.” Viktor Frankl

Viktor was right. Instead of pursuing happiness just enjoy the life you are living at the moment and happiness will be right there to grab. We complicate our lives so much with the pursuit of money and things we forget that happiness is free and is given to everyone.

In an article entitled “The Problem With Happiness” dated November 17, 2011 bears this out. It states, “People putting the greatest emphasis on being happy reported 50 percent less frequent positive emotions, 35 percent less satisfaction about their life, and 75 percent more depressive symptoms.”

How then do we find happiness?

What Does Happiness Mean To You

“Cry. Forgive. Learn. Move on. Let your tears water the seeds of your future happiness.”
Steve Maraboli

We must first decide what is important to each individual person. Then, bring a piece of that happiness and give it to others. This is how we derive meaning from that happiness. Happiness is nothing without meaning.

Here are things you can do to find the meaning of happiness in your own life.

1- Take responsibility for your own happiness and not leave it up to others to bring it to you.

2- Commit yourself to a higher purpose. What is your mission on earth. When you find your purpose you are able to commit yourself to bringing God’s love to the world through your higher purpose.

3- Cultivate awareness of both your surroundings and your thoughts for they can bring great happiness or great sorrow. Be aware of the moment and make that moment count.

4- Cultivate positive relationships that help you grow as a person. Without them, you will be not know the essence of loving others. Selfishness does not breed happiness.

5- Learn to be the most authentic person you can be. This way you don’t have to hide behind a veil of secrecy. The more you let others see the real you the happier you can be in your own skin.

According to Michael Davidson. from his article “The Meaning of Happiness” he states “Happiness is the harmony between you and your life that you achieve through finding meaning in every moment.”

I think that sums up what being happy is all about. Now it’s your turn to make it work for you for you have the choice in all matters to be or not to be happy.

How To Worship And Adore The Lord

Here is your Daily Devotional Prayer for October 20, 2016 brought to you by The Plough

“Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere him. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. The Lord foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.”

Psalm 33:8–10

Lord our God, we gather together in your presence and ask you to let your light shine in our hearts to strengthen us in times of need and trouble. May we come to know that through all the storms and distress of the world, you are mighty in protecting and sheltering those who trust in you. May we realize the power of your kingdom. Even if all the kingdoms of the world rise in rebellion, you are with us. You are with those who have set their hope on your kingdom and who go on hoping that even in evil days something must happen through your great and holy rule. Amen.

Daily Commentary: Our hope for a life filled with meaning and love hinges on one thing. putting our faith in the risen Lord. Without that faith, no action can bring us to Him.  Whatever storms may hit our shores, faith brings hope. Hope in a higher power that has a specific purpose for us. Hope that we have been saved from a life of sin.

When you are in need, who do you call? Is it the government, your friends, or even your family?

Your family is most important to you but without God you are left to your own devices. How often have you cried out for help from God?

Has things turned out like you hoped for?

God’s promises are wise and good. His word is righteous, and therefore we are  right when we agree with Him. We gain strength from His word and it is through His will that we find true happiness and peace in our own life.

Find The Peace Of God

How To Find The Peace Of God

Here is your Daily Devotional Prayer for October 19, 2016 brought to you by The Plough

“Then the peace of God, which is beyond our utmost understanding, will keep guard over your hearts and your thoughts, in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:7

O Lord God, grant us your Spirit, that we may comprehend your peace. As we pray, help us to recognize what must come from you alone, for you are mighty and holy and your will is peace on earth. Your will is peace beyond all understanding, your peace in heaven and on earth and under the earth, your peace that opposes all sin and death and takes away every evil that can be named. We await you, O Lord our God, and you will hear us. No matter how long the battle lasts, we hold out in patience, for we are your children. We shall never lose the faith that your name shall be honored and that all things shall come into harmony with your will of peace on earth, your peace. Amen.

Daily Commentary: How can we achieve peace on earth? Is it through our own means? Only through the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ can we hope to find peace on earth and learn how to love others.

The world speaks of love but does not follow through. Society spends too much time gorging their faces on whims of humanity but will not delve into the spiritual aspects of daily living. What then can we do to bring about real peace on earth?

We must first reconcile our sins to the Lord. Secondly, stop being so independent and depend on the Lord for your daily bread. Third, open up a dialogue with God and seek to know Him better. Next, make it a habit to humble ourselves before the Lord and learn our true purpose in life.

Finally, put down the cellphones, stop texting and playing with social media. Instead,  interact with the rest of humanity. Show love to those in need. Give of yourself without asking for anything in return and look for the good in the world instead of complaining.

Peace starts and ends with you. Decide to act and bring positive energy to every situation. Only then can we bring peace to a world lost in its own selfishness and ego.
